Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.

Spread softened butter evenly over the pastry.

Sprinkle granulated sugar and vanilla extract over the butter.

Roll up the pastry tightly from one long side to create a log.

Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices.

Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
