Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into small cubes. Steam or boil until tender. Mash the cooked sweet potatoes and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the mashed sweet potatoes.
  3. Gradually add the flour and mix until well combined. Pour the batter into a greased and lined cake pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the vanilla extract and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  6. Cut the cooled cake horizontally into two layers. Spread the chestnut paste on the bottom layer and place the top layer back on. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
  7. Sprinkle powdered sugar and cocoa powder on top for decoration. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
