  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Add granulated sugar and mix well.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and egg yolk until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread the cream cheese mixture on top. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Use a knife to create swirls by gently running it through the batter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes.
  10. Cut into squares and serve.
