Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.

Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for 30 minutes.

Lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment paper and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Cut into squares and serve.
