Stuff Your Baked Potato
The baked potato originated in Peru over 7,000 years ago and was introduced to Europe by Spanish explorers in the 16th century.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Scrub the baking potatoes and pat them dry. Prick each potato several times with a fork.

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Slice each potato lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.

Fluff the insides of the potatoes with a fork.

Place a tablespoon of butter in each potato and season with salt and black pepper.

Top each potato with a tablespoon of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions.

Return the potatoes to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
