Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let the meringue cool completely in the oven with the door closed.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Place the meringue on a serving platter. Fill the well with whipped cream and top with sliced strawberries.
