In a saucepan, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.

Add milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan.

Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.

Layer the bottom of serving dishes with vanilla wafers.

Pour the pudding mixture over the vanilla wafers.

Top with whipped cream and sliced bananas.
