In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a disc. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out one portion of the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6 cm).

Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes, making a small hole in the center of each shape.

Place the cut-out shapes on the prepared baking sheet.

Crush the hard candies into small pieces and fill the cut-out centers of the shapes with the crushed candies.

Insert a lollipop stick into the bottom of each shape.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet before removing.

Repeat with the remaining dough and crushed candies.

Once cooled, the cookies will harden and the crushed candies will create a stained glass effect. Enjoy!
