  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Saskatoon berries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  4. Pour the berry mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Dot the top of the filling with butter.
  6. Cover the pie with the remaining pie crust or create a lattice pattern.
  7. Brush the top crust with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Allow the pie to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
