Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Stir in the chopped pecans.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes.

Roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, roll the cookies in powdered sugar again.
