  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bread into small cubes and spread them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  4. Add the sage leaves, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes and the onion mixture. Mix well.
  6. Gradually add the vegetable broth to the bowl, stirring until the bread is moistened.
  7. Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the top is crispy.
  10. Let the stuffing rest for 10 minutes before serving.
