  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water.
  3. In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rinsed rice and salt. Cook for 10 minutes or until the rice is 70% cooked.
  4. Drain the rice and return it to the saucepan. Add the saffron water and butter. Cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  5. In a small pan, toast the almonds, pistachios, and raisins until lightly golden.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and transfer it to a serving dish. Garnish with the toasted nuts, raisins, and cilantro.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
