Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a saucepan, combine the plums, port wine, and granulated sugar. Cook over medium heat until the plums are soft and the liquid has thickened, about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, flour, ground almonds, egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim off any excess.

Pour the plum mixture into the tart shell.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
