  2. Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in the prepared baking dish.

  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  5. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  6. Pour the mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down to ensure all the bread is soaked.
  7. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
  8. Dot the bread pudding with butter.
