  2. Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to the instructions on the package.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  5. Mix in the butter, red food coloring, cocoa powder, sour cream, all-purpose flour, and salt until well combined.
  6. Pour half of the red velvet cake batter into a greased springform pan.
  7. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of the cake batter.
  8. Pour the remaining red velvet cake batter over the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Bake for 40 minutes or until the center is set.
