  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Gradually add the milk, stirring until the dough comes together.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, melt the garlic butter in a small saucepan.
  9. Brush the garlic butter over the hot biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven.
