  2. Add salt and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a long rope.
  8. Shape each rope into a pretzel shape and dip it into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  9. Remove the pretzels from the water and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Sprinkle the pretzels with coarse salt.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Allow the pretzels to cool for a few minutes before serving.
