  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  4. Press two-thirds of the dough into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Spread raspberry jam evenly over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips over the jam.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the filling.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 30 minutes, then cut into bars.
