Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch (5 cm) thickness.

Cut out scones using a round biscuit cutter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow the scones to cool slightly before serving. Serve with jelly on top. Enjoy!
