  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Stir in the canned pumpkin.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  3. Stir in the rolled oats, chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts.
  4. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown around the edges. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
