  4. In a separate pot, boil the cabbage until tender. Drain and finely chop.
  5. In a frying pan, sauté the onion in butter until translucent. Add the chopped cabbage, salt, and pepper, and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Place a spoonful of the cabbage filling onto each dough circle. Fold the dough in half and press the edges to seal.
  7. Boil the pierogi in salted water until they float to the surface.
  8. Remove the pierogi from the water and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with sour cream.
