Peel and core the pears, then thinly slice them. Set aside.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
