  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Press half of the cookie dough into the prepared baking dish. Spread the peanut butter evenly over the dough, then pour the caramel sauce on top. Crumble the remaining cookie dough over the caramel layer. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool in the dish for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
