Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches have been a popular American lunchtime staple since the early 1900s.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Press two-thirds of the dough into the prepared baking dish. Spread the peanut butter evenly over the dough, followed by the jelly. Crumble the remaining dough over the top and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool in the dish for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
