Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.

Arrange bread slices in the prepared baking dish.

Pour the egg mixture over the bread slices, making sure each slice is soaked.

Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Remove the plastic wrap from the baking dish and dot the top of the French toast with butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
