Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
-
Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Gently fold in the cranberries and orange zest.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the orange juice, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
-
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Shape the dough into a circle and cut it into 8 equal wedges.
-
Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Allow the scones to cool for 10 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
