Old-fashioned Lemon Bars
Lemon bars originated in the United States and have been a popular dessert since the 1960s. They are often enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the flour and salt, and mix until crumbly. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the lemon zest, lemon juice, and eggs. Pour the mixture over the baked crust.

Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until set.

Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan.

Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar. Cut into squares and serve.
