Spinach and feta pie, also known as Spanakopita, is a traditional Greek dish that dates back to the Byzantine Empire.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
  3. Add frozen spinach and cook until thawed and excess moisture evaporates.
  4. In a bowl, beat the eggs and milk together.
  5. Crumble feta cheese and add it to the egg mixture.
  6. Add the cooked spinach mixture and chopped dill to the bowl and mix well.
  7. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  8. Layer half of the phyllo pastry sheets in the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  9. Pour the spinach and feta mixture over the phyllo sheets.
  10. Layer the remaining phyllo pastry sheets on top, again brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
