Sift almond flour and powdered sugar. Beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar and vanilla extract. Fold in the almond flour mixture and add food coloring. Pipe small circles onto baking sheets and let them rest for 1 hour. Preheat the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Let the macarons cool completely before filling with buttercream. Sandwich the macarons together and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
