Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a bowl, combine the ripe persimmons, flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and add the egg. Mix well.

Gradually add the persimmon mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Fold in the chopped walnuts.

Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
