  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the French bread loaf horizontally.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the butter and ranch dressing mix.
  3. Spread the ranch butter mixture evenly on both cut sides of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded Monterey Jack cheese and chopped green onions on one cut side of the bread.
  5. Place the other cut side of the bread on top to form a sandwich.
  6. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Unwrap the bread and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the bread rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
