  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, hot water, and rum until smooth.
  6. Take half of the banana bread batter and transfer it to a separate bowl. Add the cocoa mixture to one bowl and mix until well combined.
  7. Pour the plain batter into the greased loaf pan, followed by the cocoa batter. Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together to create a marble effect.
  8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the batter.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
