  1. In a large bowl, mix the dried mixed fruit, butter, brown sugar, egg, self-raising flour, breadcrumbs, mixed spice, brandy, and milk.
  2. Grease 6 small pudding basins and divide the mixture evenly among them.
  3. Cover each basin with a double layer of greased baking paper and secure with string.
  4. Place the puddings in a steamer and steam for 2 hours.
  5. Remove from the steamer and let them rest for 1 hour.
  6. Serve the mini Christmas fruit puddings warm or cold with custard or cream.
