Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.

Fold in the chopped dates and blueberries. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and chopped walnuts. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the batter.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
