Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and milk. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch (5 cm) thick.
  7. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  9. While the scones are baking, prepare the cappuccino glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, instant coffee granules, and hot water until smooth.
  10. Once the scones have cooled slightly, drizzle the cappuccino glaze over the top.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
