In a separate bowl, beat the egg and milk together.

Gradually add the egg and milk mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined.

Heat a non-stick æbleskiver pan over medium heat and brush each well with vegetable oil.

Pour the batter into each well, filling it about three-quarters full.

Cook until the bottom is golden brown, then use a skewer or fork to flip the æbleskiver and cook the other side until golden brown.

Remove from the pan and serve immediately with jam or powdered sugar.
