Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add warm water and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal portions.
  6. Take one portion and shape it into a round ball. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Repeat with the remaining portions of dough.
  8. Take a small piece of dough from each ball and shape it into a smaller ball. Place it on top of the larger ball to create the ladybug's head.
  9. Use a knife to make small cuts on the larger ball to create the ladybug's wings.
  10. Mix red food coloring with a small portion of the dough and shape it into small dots. Place the dots on the wings.
  11. Mix black food coloring with another small portion of the dough and shape it into small dots. Place the dots on the head.
  12. Sprinkle black sesame seeds on the wings and head.
  13. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  14. Let the ladybug bread rolls rise for an additional 15 minutes.
  15. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  16. Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
