  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions, shape into disks, and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out one portion of the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  7. Cut out circles or squares using a cookie cutter or glass.
  8. Place a small spoonful of fruit preserves in the center of each circle or square.
  9. Fold the corners of the dough towards the center, slightly overlapping, and pinch to seal.
  10. Place the filled cookies on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining dough.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
