Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cut the kabocha squash in half, remove the seeds, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until soft.

Scoop out the flesh and mash it with a fork.

In a large bowl, combine the mashed kabocha squash, flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
