Samosas are believed to have originated in the Middle East and were introduced to India during the Delhi Sultanate rule in the 13th century.

  1. Boil the potatoes and peas until they are cooked.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds.
  3. Add chopped onion, ginger, and green chili. Saute until onion turns golden brown.
  4. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add boiled potatoes and peas. Mash them and mix with the spices.
  6. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, and oil. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough.
  8. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into thin circles.
  9. Cut each circle in half.
  10. Take one half and fold it into a cone shape, sealing the edges with water.
  11. Fill the cone with the potato and pea mixture.
  12. Seal the top of the cone with water.
  13. Heat oil for frying and deep fry the samosas until golden brown.
  14. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
