Lactation cookies are believed to help increase milk supply for breastfeeding mothers due to the ingredients like brewer’s yeast and flaxseed meal.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, brewer's yeast, flaxseed meal, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, coconut oil, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
