In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Fold in the chopped apples.

Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto a greased or lined baking sheet.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
