  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, warm water, sugar, salt, melted butter, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. In a large pot, bring the boiling water and baking soda to a boil.
  6. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a rope shape.
  7. Twist each rope into a pretzel shape and dip it into the boiling water mixture for 30 seconds.
  8. Remove the pretzels from the water using a slotted spoon and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  9. Sprinkle the pretzels with coarse salt.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
