Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and mix well.

Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then add the vanilla extract and salt. Mix until just combined.

If desired, fold in the walnuts.

Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes.
