In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.

Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the cooled crust.

Sprinkle the chopped nuts and chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
