Eggnog Scones

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggnog, vanilla extract, and egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle.

Cut the dough into 8 wedges and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
