Easter Bunny Macarons
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar.
-
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
-
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture until well combined. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and mix until evenly distributed.
-
Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet, forming the shape of bunny heads.
-
Tap the baking sheet on the counter a few times to release any air bubbles. Let the macarons rest for about 30 minutes to form a skin.
-
Bake the macarons for 12-15 minutes, or until they are set and easily lift off the parchment paper.
-
Allow the macarons to cool completely on the baking sheet.
-
Once cooled, pipe a small dollop of buttercream frosting onto the flat side of one macaron shell. Place another shell on top to create a sandwich.
-
Use edible markers or icing to draw bunny faces on the macarons.
-
Serve and enjoy!
