  5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the doughnuts from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Dust the doughnuts with powdered sugar while they are still warm.
