  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the greased baking dish.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and cocoa powder until hot but not boiling.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla extract. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the eggs while whisking continuously.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes in the baking dish. Press down gently to ensure all the bread is soaked.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the bread mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  9. Serve warm with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top.
