Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.

Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and sugar to the bowl and stir until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.

Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
